Responsible for 24 hour service provided on or by a department /patient care unit. Directs staff in all aspects of patient care including problem identification, planning implementation, and evaluation of all patient outcomes. No more than 20% of the time will be spent off the unit. The remaining 80% will be spent on the unit, engaged with the staff in the provision of patient care. Interviews, hires, counsels, and disciplines personnel.
