Responsible for evaluating the electrical hardware and software necessary to meet the automation needs of production. Design, program, and debug many types of equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Servos, Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) drives, Instrumentation and Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems. Must have a thorough understanding of safety system design and National and Local codes such as NEC, NFPA79, NFPA70-E, OSHA, and RIA.
