The Feinberg Mezzanine Observation Unit is a 43-bed unit falling under the umbrella of the Emergency Department. Most of the patients enter through the ED. The unit sees a variety of patients from different hospital services with a wide variety of disease processes, including Neuro, Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, and Cardiology. The unit is fast paced, and the nurses are trained to monitor their own telemetry.
