Some job adverts stay open for months or years. How many, and what that means.
Updated 23 Sep 2026 from 501,381 advertslive adverts say they were posted more than a year ago, 6% of those that give a date. The oldest claims 2010: “fleet maintenance supervisors - nationwide”.
The date is the employer's own. Many are evergreen adverts kept open to collect CVs rather than to fill one job.

live adverts have been reposted five times or more. One has been reposted 18 times.
Reposting can mean a hard role to fill, or an advert kept alive. We never name the employer.
